Accountability isn't about looking back.

It's about owning enough of the past
to perform better going forward.

Accountability gets misunderstood.

It can sound like punishment.

Who screwed up?
Who gets blamed?
Who needs to explain themselves?

That's not the kind of accountability that improves performance.

Real accountability starts with being willing to look clearly at what happened — including our own part in it — without spending all our energy defending it.

What worked?
What didn't?
What was mine to control?
What needs to change?

Then move.

Perspective allows us to learn from the past without living there.

Own it. Learn from it. Adjust.

That's accountability with a purpose.
